日本导演高桥伴明执导、奥田瑛二主演的新片《红玉》正式入围即将于2015年8月27日-9月7日在加拿大召开的第39届蒙特利尔国际电影节;世界电影关注单元 。 导演高桥与奥田是同龄人，该片描绘了中年男人面临;衰老与;性 的现实问题，为了追求更完美的人生而为之努力的故事。奥田饰演身兼大学教师与电影导演双重身份的主人公时田修次。除了奥田以外，在京都造形艺术大学学习的新生代演员们，以及柄本佑、高桥惠子等实力派影星都将联袂出演。
