 2008年金融危机下，美国内华达州昂皮尔小镇的重要经济支柱石膏厂倒闭，人去镇空，这里的邮政编码也被取消。丈夫去世后，几乎在在昂皮尔小镇度过了一生的弗恩（弗兰西斯·麦克多蒙德饰）无力独撑生活。为了将生活成本压到最低，她将简陋的家当搬上了改装后的厢式货车，开始了一边打工、一边西行的公路生活。她在亚马逊流水线上、在游乐园的咖啡厅里、在国家森林公园做临时工。一路上，她和许多厢式货车寄居者相遇、相识，彼此帮助，并缔结了友谊。

　　故事梗概　　本片为香港德宝电影公司的创业巨制之一，由杰出的摄影指导钟志文升任导演，是一部热闹的浪漫冒险喜剧。内容描述一名地下军火专家制造了一个小型炸弹企图有所不轨，计划被助手知悉，以致他杀人灭口，但却被三名互不认识的平凡寂寞人目睹此事件。两名疯狂杀手奉命追杀三名目击者，他们乃展开逃亡，过程中发挥同舟共济的精神来化解危机。全片是典型以追杀为主戏的娱乐片，但不强调暴力动作，反而有不少惊险笑料。三个主角的个性也纯真好玩，将都市寂寞人偶然碰到刺激遭遇时的反应生动地表现了出来。

好像一切都很糟糕

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
