暴雨将至，轰隆隆的声音夹杂着人群的呼喊声砸向操场，正在参加小学田径比赛的唐平安重重的摔倒在地面，当母亲李枚赶到医院时，医生却给了再生一个孩子做骨髓移植的建议，李枚怔怔的站在深不见底的楼道，像是对她过去十几年最好的惩罚，故事从这里开始。十几年前，李枚在计划生育政策下为了生二胎，不得不将襁褓中的女儿岁岁远送他乡亲戚，不料几年后，渐渐成熟的岁岁却成了猥琐养父趁女儿洗澡时偷偷窥视的对象，看上去多余的岁岁在一次争吵后离家出走，流浪的女孩却遇到了新的“父亲”刘建凯，一个住在船上打渔为生的男人，以父女相称，看起来生活就这么好起来了。几年后，突然一个陌生的女人闯入岁岁的生活，自称姑妈。其实是李枚儿子平安突发白血病以后，他们想起了被自己抛弃的女儿，通过当年的一丝联系，辗转找到了女儿岁岁，这是这个家庭唯一的希望。只是女儿岁岁似乎早已经知道了真相，他们互为朋友，互相试探，互相利用，最终他们都要回家，可是岁岁的家到底在哪里？

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
