　　16岁男孩赫尔穆特·胡贝纳 (Helmuth Hübener) 在目睹犹太朋友被纳粹逮捕后，与朋友卡尔和鲁迪组建了抵抗组织。他们的勇敢行为使他们面临纳粹德国最高法院的审判。

一场车祸夺走了莱利的生命，她近乎完美的生活突然中断，留下一个没有母亲的家庭。随着调查的开始，莱利的妹妹凯莉发现这场车祸可能不是她妹妹死亡的真正原因，案件发生了奇怪的转折。

 本片是同一故事第三度重拍的版本。此片将好莱坞的背景改成今日的摇滚乐坛，男主角原是着名的摇滚乐歌手，而女主角则在小型夜总会卖艺。影片中有不少热门插曲，部分片段的镜头和表演都不俗，但整体则显得有点矫揉造作，角色欠缺真正的生命感，不过娱乐性还是维持相当水准。本片曾获奥斯卡最佳电影插曲金像奖。
